What is a Cash on Delivery (COD)?
Cash on Delivery (COD) is a payment option offered for our users to place an order first and make a cash payment upon delivery, instead of making an upfront online payment. 

 

This payment method is particularly useful for those who prefer to handle their transactions in cash.

 

How to make a payment?

When you choose  Cash on Delivery (COD) as your payment method, you are required to prepare cash to be handed over to the delivery person when your order arrives. Here’s how:

 
  1. Select "Cash on Delivery" at checkout.

  2. Prepare the exact amount in cash (or as close as possible) to avoid the hassle of receiving the balance from drivers.

  3. Wait for the delivery person, collect your food and hand the amount as indicated on the Order page. 

 

Accepted Payment Methods?

  1. Cash (exact change is preferred).

  2. Digital payment options *(if available and accepted by the driver).

 

Benefits of Cash on Delivery (COD) payment options

  • Convenient for customers who do not use online payment methods or does not have an online payment option. 

  • Allow foreigners and tourists to place orders on ShopeeFood if they do not have banking or credit cards. 

  • Safe for users who are worried about online scams and prefer to do cash transactions. 

 

Cancelling a Cash on Delivery (COD) Order

Please note that order cancellation is only possible within 10 seconds after placing your order. May refer HERE for the guide on doing so. 

 

⚠️ Note:

  1. You can cancel the order as long as the cancellation button is available on the Order page.

  2. All Shopee Coins, Free Shipping Vouchers, or Discount Vouchers used to place an order will be auto-refunded once the order is cancelled (subject to validity).

 

User Responsibilities

During a  Cash on Delivery (COD) order, please ensure the following:

 
  1. Be available at the delivery address at the time of delivery and prepare the exact amount as stated on the order page. 

  2. Driver has the right to refuse to hand over the food to you if the amount is incorrect/incomplete or not received upon delivery. 

  3. If you face any issue with your order, ie: incorrect order or missing items, please raise a refund request via the ShopeeFood Order page.

In cases you are facing issues with your order received, ie: incorrect order, or missing item. You may refer to HERE for the refund process and policy. 

 

Limitations and Restrictions of placing an order with Cash on Delivery (COD)

  1. Order Limits: The maximum number of ongoing orders allowed is two (2)

  2. Order Restriction:  Cash on Delivery (COD) may be restricted within ShopeeFood and/or the Shopee platform if the system detects violations with the payment term. 

  3. Maximum Basket Size: RM 100
 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

 

Q: What if I don't have the exact change?

  • It is recommended to prepare the exact amount for your  Cash on Delivery (COD) order to avoid any inconvenience. Delivery persons may not always have change available.

  • Alternatively, you may always check with the driver via chat if he is comfortable with other alternatives. Do ensure the transaction is completed upon delivery. 

  • ShopeeFood reserves the right to reject any request for a refund if the buyer mistakenly pays a higher/wrong amount to the driver.

 

Q: Can I change the payment method after placing a  Cash on Delivery (COD) order?

  • Similar to another cashless payment method you may not be able to cancel an order. 

  • If you mistakenly placed the order, kindly cancel it immediately within the first 10 seconds and reorder with the correct payment method.
